Birth of Wizard of Waste and other insights into the minds of two theatre geeks

After our enlightening visit to the recycling facility, Alice and I sat down to decide what to do with all the new information. Poor Michael had taken ill and couldn't join us.

What you see above is a part of our thought process. We needed to do something new; we needed to do something engaging; and we were possibly pretty high on caffeine. Wanting to show people the processes of waste recycling was the first thing on our minds: we were so impressed by what we had seen that we wanted to share it with everyone else.

Perhaps because both of us have a history in arts and performance, this process led to, well, theatre installations, and big props. If we could make it fun, and bring it to people, and get them involved, and make it flashy, surely this would be the best way to get people thinking? And repeating the message, on one hand a performance and on another something visual at every bin so people connect what they have seen with what they do?

After getting our very first pitching practice by pitching this entirely new idea to Michael, who didn't need much convincing (thankfully so - turns out Alice and I are full of crazy ideas but as a trio we are much better at making them convincing, grounded and doable), things have moved fast. Proof: you're here.
